Capture Energy is Europe’s first battery-backed power company. We buy electricity when it’s cheapest and cleanest, store it in decentralised batteries, and manage it with our in-house software, Capture AI. The result? Cleaner, cheaper, more reliable power for homes and businesses.

We’re looking for builders who dare to take on giant incumbents, roll up their sleeves to tackle problems that don’t (yet) scale, and won’t settle for anything less than excellence.

As our Trading & Optimisation Lead, you’ll work directly with the founders to build from scratch a core function of the company. We just secured seed funding from top investors, so there won't be a more exciting time to join!

👩‍💻 Your role

• Improve our battery optimisation engine within [Capture AI] that creates asset schedules
• Continuously monitor and refine model performance across forecasting**,** optimisation and trading decisions
• Architect and build our wholesale trading function and systems from scratch
• Drive expansion into further markets beyond wholesale and local flex
• Develop trading strategies to drive long-term profitability

💡 What you bring

• Experience in building asset optimisation engines, in particular bi-directional batteries
• Proficiency in ML techniques for asset-level forecasting and optimisation
• Strong engineering mindset, with hands-on experience deploying production-ready code
• Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to commercial teams
• Trading experience in wholesale electricity markets ****is a plus
